Vagrant host up errors

Posted March 3, 2013

This was an interesting problem today, Fresh install with ruby and gems all up to date. I ran the following command:

sudo gem install vagrant

All the output shows installed and no errors, Always a good sign. However running vagrant from the CLI returned “command not found” It looks like a bug in the debian install. Simple fix is to add the ruby gem path to your .bashrc file like below:

$PATH=/usr/lib/ruby/gem/bin:$PATH

source ~/.bashrc

If your paths match mine you should be good to run vagrant
